Questions
The short answers. The privacy page has the long ones.
Is it safe to sign in?
You sign in on Tesla's own page. Uplink never sees your password. Tesla gives it access to read your car's data, which you can revoke from your Tesla account at any time.
Will it wake my car or drain the battery?
No. Your car sends updates on its own while it's awake, and Uplink never wakes it or sends commands.
Why add Uplink's key to my car?
It lets your car send live data to Uplink: update progress, charging and battery. The key can't unlock or drive the car, and you can remove it any time in your car's Locks settings.
What data does Uplink store?
Your car's versions and update progress, battery, charging, odometer and energy use, plus Supercharger sessions with invoices. It never reads your location. The privacy page lists everything.
Which cars work?
Any Tesla on your account that Tesla's Fleet API supports, including the Model Y sold in India.
How do I delete my data?
Use Delete my data in Settings. It removes your cars, history and charging, stops your car streaming to Uplink and disconnects your Tesla account. Then remove Uplink's key in your car's Locks settings.
